Spending the last couple of months reading what seems like thousands of articles, reading a few dozen books and spending hours listening to Matt Cutt's lecture on SEO & SEM I feel like I have finally reached a level where I can confidently say I am an Internet Marketer.
Devilishly fast, hundreds of small moving parts & so finely tuned that making a single mistake can spell disaster & doom. No, I am not describing a Parche 911 GT3, I am talking about a well run online marketing campaign. With Google making 500+ changes to their algorithm on a yearly basis (that's 1.36 changes a day) business relying more and more on their online sales and 90% of online marketers being SCAM artist this is a golden moment to be in Internet Marketing. The more about I learn in this field however the more I feel like the first time I played a round of Golf. A rush of excitement at having learned how to play so quickly, followed by the sudden realization you will spend the rest of your life vainly trying to master the game. That's all I have for now but welcome and enjoy looking around.

In my opinion Social Media Marketing or SMM is marketing to highly targeted and precise communities and individuals thru web 2.0 properties that foster that formation formation of these networks. Some platforms that can not be ignored are Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube and Google. In terms of how you actually go about doing it, that is a very long answer that would probably be outdated by the time I recounted it to you. Therefore bookmark this page as I will be writing weekly posts on how you can execute a sound Social Media Marketing strategy for yourself or your business. Long past are the days where having a Facebook page and maybe Linking up with a few co-workers on Linked-In was sufficient. Now with companies using social media background checks and depending more and more on the Internet and Social Media it is our turn turn to shine. So sit back, rub your over used wrist and get ready to make the maddeningly confusing world of SMM a little more manageable and lot more profitable. |
